TikTok opens its revamped Creator Fund to all eligible creators in the US.

Tik Tok Announced today that it’s opening its revamped creator fund, called the “Creativity Program Beta,” to all eligible creators in the United States. Initially, the company started testing the new program with select creators in February. TikTok says the new program is designed to generate higher revenue and unlock more real-world opportunities for creators.

To be eligible for the program, creators must have an account in the US, be at least 18 years old, have at least 10,000 followers, and have at least 100,000 views in the last 30 days.

Once enrolled in the new program, creators will not be able to return to the Creator Fund. TikTok did not say whether the Creative Program will replace the Creator Fund entirely, but it is possible that once the Creative Program launches more widely and exits beta, TikTok will remove the Creator Fund.

TikTok says that the rewards formula for the Creativity Program beta was designed to offer a higher average gross income for qualified video views, but did not provide specific details on payments. The company’s current Creator Fund released in 2020 with a three-year billion-dollar commitment, but it has been criticized by the creators who have complained of low payments, with some saying they earned a few bucks for videos that got millions of views.

To start earning from the program, creators will need to create original, high-quality videos that are longer than one minute. For context, the TikTok Creator Fund does not require videos to be longer than one minute to be eligible for payment. Another key difference between the two monetization programs is that the Creator Fund only requires creators to have 10,000 followers to be eligible for payment, while the Creativity Program Beta has a requirement of 100,000 followers.

The program gives creators access to an updated dashboard with more information on estimated revenue, video performance metrics and analytics, and video eligibility requirements.

“The beta version of the Creativity Program is in its early stages and we are continually exploring ways to improve the experience for our creator community and the way creators are rewarded,” TikTok wrote in a statement. blog post. “We look forward to hearing feedback from our community.”

The Creativity Program is the latest addition to TikTok’s suite of monetization tools, which includes LIVE subscriptions and TikTok Pulse. The company also has monetization of tips and gifts characteristics.

The new show isn’t the only recent TikTok release that aims to appease creators. In March, TikTok introduced a new feature called “Series” which allows eligible creators to post content behind a paywall.

The series allows eligible creators to post collections of premium content behind a paywall that viewers can purchase to access. One Series can include up to 80 videos, each up to 20 minutes long. Creators can select the price for their Series that they believe best reflects the value of their exclusive content. The series is currently only available to select creators, with applications to join opening in the coming months.
