The main problem is that crossplane crank which sacrifices peak power and overall engine balance to get smoother power delivery. Yamaha used to make flat-plane inline-4 back in 02 and 03 before Rossi came. That engine could rival the mighty V5 RC211V on the straights but hampered by the outdated carburetor (before EFI was used in mid 02 season) and early M1 chassis (which was IIRC a modified YZR500 chassis). Flat-plane inline-4 maybe the solution for Yamaha but it is an unknown territory for anyone in MotoGP.
Simple explanation… Inline JORGE LORENZO tremendous corner speed not much emphasis on straight line speed… V4 ANDREA DOVIZIOSO good braking stability and tremendous straight line speed… 😅😅
Please do it better content please why don't you ask yamaha about inline engine other than hearing aprillia. yamaha and suzuki was champion of 2020 & 2021 so it is not that shit as aprillia saying
Suzuki with Mir won in 2020 and Yamaha also won the 2021 championship with Quatararo so obviously I4 can be fast but I think with the aero advantages the V4s can get the downforce and grip to keep up with I4 in the corners so now the I4 of the Yamaha in 2023 doesn't have the advantage it used to and is still behind on the straights and in braking.
The best thing is remove all electronic aid from the bike and all back like 2 stroke era, everything on rider right hand, and we can see who gonna be the best bike and rider
V4 split,,give more space to air circulation,,reduce engine heat and expand engine ability,, ,,inline to v engine is get more piston in same room size also better performance engine than inline system,,there is more interesting on X4 engine or T3 engine,Formula 1 using V6 but not split yet,,,thanks
The i4-power is right there, you just have to take it. With all the aero and all the electronics in mind the conventional crankshaft (180degrees) would keep it in check out of corners and you would decimate the V4s on the straights, maybe. I'm no engineer.
Explain easier. Inline 4 centrifical force stands bike up mid corner on the gas. Stands bike up with crank spinning. V4 crank doesn't stand the bike up mid corner on the gas. V4 has crank running different force. Hold line longer. Wow Harley Davidson did well flat tracking. It's old tech really.
latter half of the season 2022, Suzuki showed some of its next season techs and proved that it's one of the best bike on the grid. I'm of the same opinion with mat oxley and hold it in high regards

V4 all the way!

Yamaha v4 500s 😁😁

depends where the motor is made and put together imo, both layouts work

better full inhouse machine
And lets not forget Honda is a V4
flatplane i4 will always sound the best 👍
1 silinder menyimak 😮
Oh my god. You fucking cowards. Bring back Simon crafar.
I love these technical insights. More like this please!
So they're bullying yamaha? XD

Your welcome brother..
can anyone make an arguement for a 1000cc inline 3 cylinder?
Only comments from the v4 side

V4s have come a long way in terms of cornering speeds and agility. Inline 4s (Yamaha) simply don't have the brute power yet to compete.
The rumble of the V4 is great, but the scream of the inline four is still just too sweet.
Bring back in house ECU, and Bridgestone tire. We will see i4 solo riding at P1.
V4 is better, this is obvious
i think Inline 4 flatplane has more top speed than v4
What specific electronics is he referring to?
