can you really Got it all in one pair of headphones? Turtle Beach’s new Stealth Pro, which the company calls “the king” of wireless gaming, aims to prove that it can be done. These wireless cans offer a smorgasbord of features in an effort to be your best gaming partner.

Noise Cancellation? Check. Sound adjustable by equalizer? Yes. Full platform support? Indeed. The wireless headset even has swappable batteries, so you’ll never be cold during an intense gaming session. If there’s a gaming feature you’ve heard of, chances are the Stealth Pro has it, all wrapped up in a relatively sleek chassis.

True, there is a bit of a jack-of-all-trades effect here. The Stealth Pros do almost everything right, but they’re not necessarily the best at anything. At $330, they’re also a great investment. But if you can stomach the price, this pair has the goods where it counts, making for a luxurious gaming accessory no matter what your fancy is, and even a solid pair of travel headphones in a pinch.

Headphones Meet Headphones

The best compliment I can give to the Stealth Pro’s styling is that it’s not too advanced. They will not be mistaken for a pair of Sony or Sennheiserespecially with the detachable microphone in place, but compared to rivals like the HyperX Cloud Alpha (10/10, WIRED recommends), the Stealth Pro looks very stylish in its black and steel color scheme.

The chassis is heavy and a bit unwieldy at just over 400 grams, but the thick padding with layers of soft leatherette along the ear cups and headband keep things pretty snug. I used the headphones for about three hours with no complaints; when I felt some wear and tear on the head, moving the band around helped rebalance things.

The headphones offer solid noise isolation, and when combined with the headphones’ adjustable active noise cancellation, you can effectively escape the outside world while listening to music or playing a game. This isn’t top notch ANC, especially in the higher registers where headphones are easily beaten by masters of the headphone world like the Sony WH-1000XM4 and newer XM5 (9/10, WIRED recommends). In fact, I found myself turning it down a level or two as I played, which reduced the white noise and kept me at least marginally aware of the world around me.

On the left earcup is a port for the boom microphone, which worked quite well for my online gaming campaigns. A friend said it sounded “100 times better” than my previous headphones. Of course, the Stealth Pro costs about 10 times more than my cheap old model. The microphone can also be flipped up to mute, and if you don’t want to use it, there are two built-in microphones. These also work pretty well, but they pick up a lot more ambient noise.
