Notable guests also included the Lord Provost of Glasgow Jacqueline McLaren and Dr. Helena Britt of Glasgow School of Art.
A Testament to Success
Adagio, with its flagship site in Edinburgh and its newest aparthotel in Glasgow, has announced its resounding success in Scotland. This accomplishment is part of a remarkable £9 million investment in the city, which has led to the availability of 308 apartments. The establishment of ADAGIO Original Glasgow Central in the local area has also created 30 jobs, further bolstering the economy. With 23,500 guests already accommodated this year, the aparthotel is expected to welcome a staggering 36,000 visitors by the end of 2023.
An Expanding Brand
Xavier Desaulles, the CEO of Adagio, shared his excitement about the continued growth of the brand. Adagio now boasts 14,600 apartments in 16 countries, marking it as Europe’s number one aparthotel brand. In the UK alone, the brand already offers 1,000 apartments, with plans to double that figure to 2,000 by 2027. Adagio’s growth strategy extends beyond Scotland, with upcoming openings in London’s Whitechapel in 2024 and Belfast in 2025.
Building a Strong Presence in Scotland
Xavier Desaulles, Chief Executive of Adagio, expressed pride in the brand’s expanding presence in Scotland. In addition to Edinburgh and Glasgow, Adagio has established itself in Leicester, Liverpool, and Birmingham, as well as three serviced apartments in London. The brand’s ambitious plans include opening new locations in Belfast and Whitechapel. ADAGIO Original Glasgow Central will play a pivotal role in Adagio’s UK development, showcasing the cutting-edge aparthotels that have become synonymous with Europe’s leading aparthotel brand.
The Perfect Blend of Comfort and Convenience
Adagio serviced apartments offer the ideal combination of the comforts of a city apartment and the convenience of hotel facilities and services. ADAGIO Original Glasgow Central exemplifies this concept, providing guests with stylish living spaces and a range of shared amenities. Guests and locals alike can enjoy local food, explore the artifact library, unwind in the play area, utilize co-working spaces, and take advantage of the 24/7 shop.
Celebrating Glasgow’s Cultural Legacy
In its inaugural year, ADAGIO Original Glasgow Central launched the Rennie Mackintosh Rose Competition to pay homage to one of Scotland’s most renowned designers and architects. Charles Rennie Mackintosh, synonymous with Glasgow, even designed a new building for the Glasgow School of Art in 1896. Adagio invited final-year students from the prestigious BA (Hons) Textile Design course to create their own interpretation of Mackintosh’s iconic Rose motif, which has become a symbol of the city. Two winning students, Emma Hughes and Marie Jennings, were selected through a social media contest and their modern takes on the classic design are now proudly displayed within the apartment hotel.
An Exciting Location with Unparalleled Amenities
Located near the business center and nestled on the banks of the River Clyde, ADAGIO Original Glasgow Central is a captivating destination. Situated in close proximity to Glasgow Central Station and St Enoch Underground Station, the aparthotel provides easy access to Argyle Street, St Enoch Shopping Centre, and the International Business District. With 162 pet-friendly apartments and studios, the property also offers a gym, laundry room, and Adagio’s famous object library.
