Vacation Bible School/Summer Activities

North Citrus Christian Church in Citrus Springs is hosting Vacation Bible School. Pre-registration is available, or you can register at the church. The VBS dates are July 23 to July 26 from 5:30-8 p.m., with dinner provided every night at 5:30. All ages are welcome. For more information, contact the church at 352-527-0021.

First Baptist Church of Beverly Hills is offering a free five-day kids Club from July 24-28 from noon to 2 p.m. Children from kindergarten to fifth grade can participate in Bible lessons, songs, and fun activities. Lunch will be provided each day. Registration forms can be found online or in person on the first day of the club. For more information, call the church office at 352-746-2970.

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Dunnellon is hosting Vacation Bible School from July 24-28 from 4:45-8:15 p.m. Children from kindergarten to fifth grade can join in the faith-based learning experience. There will be crafts, games, activities, and dinner provided. The cost to attend is $20 for one child, $35 for two children, and $50 for three or more in a family. Faith Lutheran Church will have Vacation Bible School from July 10-14 at 935 Crystal Glen Drive, Lecanto. All are welcome to attend.

St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Lecanto is inviting students in kindergarten through fifth grade to join their Vacation Bible School from July 10-14 from 5-8 p.m. Dinner will be served, and children will learn about loving their neighbors through Bible stories, songs, games, and art projects. The Hills Church is hosting Vacation Bible School from June 25-29 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. each evening. The theme is “Keepers of the Kingdom” and there will be music, games, prizes, food, and fun for kids. Online registration is available on their website or call 352-746-6171.

North Oak Church is offering their North Oak KidCare Summer Camp for children K4-5th grade beginning May 30. Themed weeks will include Science Week, Space Week, Martial Arts Week, and more. Camp will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, with before and after camp care available. Spots are limited, and a $50 deposit is required to reserve your child’s spot. Special Events

Citrus County First Christian Church Youth Sports Program will have a fundraiser at 6 p.m. on July 11 at The Cove Restaurant and Pub in Inverness. There will be a silent auction, 50/50 raffle, baked goods, and donations will be accepted. For more information, call Royce Green at 352-257-7428.

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Dunnellon will have their free annual Christmas in July Craft Fair on July 8 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The craft fair will feature over 40 crafters and a variety of food and drinks will be available. Raffle tickets will also be sold for a chance to win creations donated by the crafters.

New Church Without Walls will have a yard sale on June 29 and June 30 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 300 S. Kensington Ave., Lecanto.

Spanish-language group meets at Nature Coast U.S. 19 in Homossasa every Sunday at 10 a.m. for a Bible study called “grupo de vida.” Contact Enrique at 352-257-1484 for more information.

St. Thomas Catholic Church Women’s Guild meets on the third Wednesday of every month at 1 p.m. in St. Martin’s Hall. The guild sponsors the church’s liturgies throughout the year and welcomes new members.

Food & Fellowship

Peace Lutheran Church is hosting a Community Meal on July 17 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The meal will include burgers, hot dogs, beverages, and desserts and is free to all. The church is located at 7201 U.S. 41, Dunnellon.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Citrus Springs serves those in need with free boxes of food from its food pantry. Please call 352-465-6613 for information.

St. Scholastica Catholic Church Knights of Columbus will be taking the summer off from breakfasts. Their next monthly breakfast will be on Sept. 17.

Grace Methodist Church is collecting donations of nonperishable food goods for local food pantries. Donations can be brought to the church on Sunday mornings from 9-10 a.m. and donors are invited to stay for coffee, donuts, and the church service.

Real Life Fellowship is now offering a complimentary dinner every Wednesday evening at 5 p.m. followed by a Bible study from 6-7:30 p.m. The church is located on 2301 Carter St. in Inverness.

St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church in Inverness hosts the Feed My Sheep hot lunch program every Friday at 11:30 a.m. The church also operates a food pantry on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Red Level Baptist Church’s Living Bread Food Pantry distributes food on the second and last Wednesday of each month from 4-5 p.m. and 9-10 a.m., respectively. Toiletries and clothing are also available. The church is located at 11025 W. Dunnellon Road, Crystal River.

Rivers of Life Restoration Ministry operates the Seven Loaves Food and Clothing Pantry at Helping Hands Thrifty Treasures on Fort Island Trail.
