  1. Listening to the first five minutes of this it is uncomfortably clear that this politician, Mr. Blumenthal is a power hungry despot eager to expand the already bloated size of out of control governments worldwide to control progress in every area. Notice how he brought up the "failure" of government to control the Internet. Anyone who understands the power and technical beauty of the Internet knows freedom is the real value here. Censorship and government control or not the answer.

  2. imagine a battlefield, where AI marks the target and asks the targeted solder "You are interacting with an AI now, – please press "I Agree" before I kill you" 😀

  3. Wherever there is extreme fear mongering you can but there is an extreme lust for power. Then this guy gets off "patriotic" and mentions freedom and liberty. He's up to no good.

  4. It is evident that people from different backgrounds have different concerns. However, there is a consensus that AI is a powerful force for innovation. Senators are more concerned about the potential impact it may bring and whether it will be beyond control.

  5. Did I miss it or nobody asked what dataset was used for the initial training of openai's systems in absence of prying eyes of regulatory entities? the grandstanding praise for mr altman at this point kind of obscures the nascent history of this technology that after quiet & vicious annihilation of career of some of us due to their rampant abuse & exploitation of our data without our knowldege & consent & breach of our privacy & security & now mr altman turns to the regulatory bodies for guidance.
Also seems nobody cared to ask Mr Altman that after ruining our careers how his communist idea in regard to putting UBI (universal basic income) in place, just like past years that they have paralyzed llivelihood of some of us with deceptive & hypocrite takeover of our sources of revenue & giving it away to strangers behind our back in style of chinese government is going to be working in the states.

  6. How many of these people have put off having a family in favor of advancing their careers? When they do start their families, how many biological children of their own will they be able to have, given that they squandered their most fertile years in the education system, and pursued career preparations in place of ensuring that there actually shall be a next generation to appreciate what was provided to them by their forebearers?

I saw a breaking news item. It concerned Hollywood stars who are proud that they have mostly trans children. How great is that going to be to prevent population collapse?

  7. ChatGPT chastised me for praising anything to do with heteronormativity. Given the fact that we have a population collapse situation in the brewing, it makes no sense to depopulate any future genius-level children targeted now to become trans kids to avoid being called oppressors by the neo-Marxists running schools.

  8. these people are so old, this is why it will be our downfall. nobody should serve in congress their entire lives because you end up with senile people in wheel chairs not giving up their power.

  9. AI would be more productive and less destructive than third world immigration. Lies and manipulation? Media and government are already full of that. Hold back productivity? When there's a better way of doing something, we should hold on to the old way, right? Shouldn't be using computers and the internet to communicate. Everybody back to typewriters and snail mail. Think other countries will hold back? America would lose competitive edge.

  10. 🦋Nothing will separate us from the Love of God. Wait for Yeshua's return. Repent and turn back to God with all your mind, all your heart and strength. The Grace of God be with you. Be brave.✨

  11. the use of technology, whichever it might be, accords to the intent of the user; it can mirror mankind's best or worst.

to safeguard it's correct use and to safeguard no specific country leadership or control are imperatives.

governements and politicians should butt out of this discussion; leave science to scientists and morality to philosophers, and do the approppriate regulation job, after conclusions are drawn out.

  12. Let's put AI in charge of who gets the right to buy and sell, or use various services. It could decide based on our political opinions and conformity to the State. This is going to be great!

  13. I imagine this will be much like the calculator when it came out. A very useful tool, however now days teachers allow children in class to use calculators and they never actually learn how to do math equations. ( show your work ) I am guilty of this as well, I used to use a map for travel but now gps is so wonderful that the knowledge of using analog skills seems unnecessary. But is it?

  14. 1:14:50.. So if I had the same / similar voice to Kanye West, Kanye west can technically copy strike me? The music industry makes no sense. Humanly/Artificially, you can be born/have similar voice to another human being.

  15. God, politicians are so pathetic, they will probably ruin AI, like they ruin everything they touch, government is a group of pathetic dumb people, their only purpose is to make our lives miserable, while enriching theirselves

  16. The Genie is already out of the bottle. There's no way any government/industry coalition is going to be able to contain it, simply because no organization can sit back while another party without regulations goes all in with it. Blah, blah, blah – fasten your seat belts.
