The "one day" cops you speak of don't exist Doc
The officer could have easily simply stepped back out of reach of her spit and then put on a plastic face mask that are common in hospitals. He chose assault and should be charged. This incident happened to be captured on video, but there are probably more incidents in which he was involved that weren't.
I hate to say it but i don't think there is a cop good enough to do that. So sad they are all so bad.
If this man wannabe pig police officer was capable of doing this to this woman when he knows that she can sue the police department for aggravated assault what makes uou think that he doesn't do worst to other woman's where there is no camera recording him.

Police need to understand they are paid to handle people at their worst not at their best. I do believe she should be charged for spitting on the officer but he should be charged for punching her. She was handcuffed and seated. He had options and chose to antagonize someone who is clearly drunk or having a mental episode. What did he expect?
Well you put on the badge anything can and most likely will happen. So his feelings got him fired well done.
Let's not forget the Loveland officer who shot and killed a dog after surprising the family in a parking lot and the dog approached him. Loveland Colorado PD seem to instigate situations in which they can choose indulge in a bit of violence. 😠

Cops wear gloves for a reason. They can punch without hand injury. In a hospital room there’s sanitizer everywhere. She’s in hospital for a reason and further injury should not be one reason!
