japanese electric car Manufacturer Aspark is celebrating after its production vehicle broke two speed records on Tuesday (May 23) and hit speeds of nearly 200mph.
He Aspark Owl Supercar he was put to the test at Alvington Aerodrome in the north of England, earning Guinness World Records for average speeds over one quarter and one eighth of a mile.
For an eighth mile he averaged 309.02 kph or 192.02 mph, and for a quarter mile, 318.85 kph or 198.12 mph.
the hypercar It can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 1.72 seconds, has a top speed of 260 mph and a range of about 250 miles, and takes 40 minutes to charge.
the owl has 1,980 horsepower and 1,475 pound-feet of torque.
It’s not cheap, though: to buy one of the starting 50 vehicles, you’ll need £2.5m. Aspark started selling Owl to wealthy customers in 2020.
Based in Osaka, JapanAspark has been working on the development of Owl ultra-performance electric vehicles since 2015. It is a growing company with more than 3,500 employees (2022) and 25 offices worldwide.
The record was held under the auspices of the UK Timing Association at Elvington Airfield, Yorkshire, in the Straightliners speed record event.
