  1. I agree the father is 💯 at fault for this horrible crime. As a mother that child no matter what the father said, in my home it would of never entered the door unless it was mine locked in a gun safe away from any child. The mother should have taken a strong stance against this action of even a thought of her child owning any kind of weapon wither he had made threats are not. I understand she did not buy the gun but, in my home are even if sharing custody, I would have n9t rested until it was clear with my child and his father that there would not be any ownership of a weapon of any of my children unless they were an adult and on their own out of my home. Adulting begins when they are in their own place supporting themselves and not still living with parents. So I do place some blame on his mother.

  2. On 28th of April 1996 in port Arthur Tasmania Australia, one man named Martin bryant killed 35 people and wounded 23 others in what was one of the worst massacres the world has ever seen carried out by one person.
The attack led to fundamental changes to Australia’s gun laws. Bryant used a semi automatic AR-15.

John Howard, who was Australia’s prime minister at the time formulated the national firearms agreement restricting private ownership of semi automatic rifles, pump action and semi automatic shot guns.

There has not been another mass shooting in Australia since the laws were passed in 1996.

  3. Parents should be charged. No child or teen should have access to guns without a reasonable adult present at all times. What is wrong with these people. Nothing good happens when a child is alone with a gun.

  4. We used to recoil in horror when we heard about the school shootings in the US.
But gradually, we come to a place where we just shake our heads and shrug…what kind of governance is this – which values gun ownership rights over the lives of children?

  5. In an time period when teens have such high suicide rates, not to mention school shootings. I can see buying a teen a hunting rifle that they use with you for deer hunting. But no teen or child needs an automatic weapon. Those guns are only used for 1 thing. What the heck did he think his son was going to do with it?

  6. Parents should be charged for crimes committed by their children unless the state deems them ‘responsible’ – some states have laws that 16 and older are responsible for their actions. All these teens and preteens robbing, stealing cars, car highjacking, stealing guns, fleeing & eluding, police pursuits, out after 10 pm, etc.; the parents need to be charged since they are supposed to be responsible for their children!!
