Why You Should Take More Risks With Nate Silver

Every career involves choices; every choice involves risks. But being able to assess those risks and calmly think through which ones are worth taking can make the process of choosing between options much easier. The problem? Most of us aren’t very good at assessing risk. In this episode, Isabel Berwick talks to statistician, author, and occasional poker player Nate Silver to find out how we can take better risks in our careers. Silver, founder of the analysis website FiveThirtyEight and author of the new book On the edge: the art of risking it all‘ explains why fear plays a huge role in our decision-making, how to bounce back when a bet doesn’t go as expected, and why age 60 might not be the best time to avoid risk.
