The chief of the crew
Each team uses a traffic light system for their stops in boxes, the old lollipop has been redundant by the semi -automatized light system. The Decision Go/No -go remains in the hands of a human, with a high-level member of the equipment, usually the main mechanic, responsible for operating the lights and releasing the car.
