Since President Trump unleashed a whip of global tariffs again, Congress’ Democrats have worked to highlight the owners of small businesses who say that tariffs and economic work threaten their livelihoods.
In videos on social networks, local news, conferences and audiences of Capitol Hill News, the Democrats have highlighted the difficult situation of local entrepreneurs who describe to be forced to increase prices, fire workers, freeze the hiring and slow sales to preserve stocks as they absorb the impact of Mr. Trump’s commercial movements.
It is a way in which the Democrats are trying to use the problem of the rate in their broader strategy of portraying Trump and the Republicans who attend the rich and powerful at the expense of common Americans. The approach focuses when the Democrats work to reformulate as the workers’ party and accuse Republicans, historically known as the business party, to quell US entrepreneurship.
“President Trump’s commercial war is an economic fire in Main Street, and these people are burning,” said Senator Chuck Schumer, a New York Democrat and the minority leader, at a press conference this week with several small businesses.
“The protest we hear from our small businesses echoes what we hear during the first days of the Covid-19 pandemic,” said representative Nydia M. Velázquez, the main democrat of the small businesses committee, ATA A shadow audience celebrated Thursday by the Chamber Democrats. “Except this time, the government is causing pain, not working to relieve it.”
Democratic leaders have encouraged their rank and archive members to focus on small businesses. Many of them did it last month when they deploy throughout the country for a two -week recess.
