Carlos Sainz is the latest driver to be penalized on the starting grid for Sunday’s Belgian Grand Prix, having added new power unit elements after qualifying.

according to the regulationsThe first time the allocation of any of the elements is exceeded, a penalty of 10 places on the grid will be applied, and the second time this occurs (and so on) will result in a drop of five places on the grid; all penalties in the same event will be applied cumulatively.
If a driver incurs a penalty that exceeds 15 places on the grid, he must start the race at the back of the grid anyway.
