Kimi Antonelli will become the third youngest driver in the history of F1 when he represents Mercedes at the Australia Grand Prix of 2025, 18 years, six months and 19 days. But who is currently in the 10 best on the list of all sport time and what happened after their respective debut weekends? F1.com has the answers …
#10 – Daniil Kvyat – Australia 2014 – 19 years, 10 months, 18 days
The GP3 champion, Kvyat, approached the F1 with the then called Toro Rosso in 2014, reaching Q3 and scoring points in his debut and well enough over the course of the year to ensure a Red Bull promotion when Sebastian Vettel surprised to the paddock when moving Ferrari.
However, Kvyat’s time in the senior team was short. After a first solid campaign with Daniel Ricciardo, his complicated start of 2016, which included a clash with Vettel on the homeland in Russia, saw Red Bull put Max Verstappen instead after only four races.
From there, it would always be difficult to recover, with Toro Rosso, dropping Kvyat at the end of 2017 in the middle of a descending spiral, only to bring it quickly for two more seasons, the highlight is a surprise podium in the rain hit 2019 German Grand Prix.
