The death of two teenagers in a traffic accident minutes after they became involved in a police chase sparked riots in the He and Cardiff area.
Kyrees Sullivan, 16, and Harvey Evans, 15, were killed in the incident Monday night while riding an electric bike.
Here is a timeline of the events on the night of May 22:
– 17:59.40: CCTV footage shows the electric bike circling Frank Road in Ely and traveling towards a marked police van. The bike then turns around.
– 18:00.52: More CCTV taken from a camera at a property on Frank Road and shared on social media shows the police van following the bike. The vehicle’s blue lights or sirens were not on.
– 18:01.18: The police van is at the New Ely Church roundabout and travels down Archer Road, Stanway Road and turns left onto Howell Road.
– 18:02.31: The van turns onto Grand Avenue.
– Between 18:02.17 and 18:02.41: The fatal traffic collision occurs on Snowden Road. At the time of the crash, the police van was on Grand Avenue, half a mile from the scene of the accident.
– 18:06.59: The police van is on Cowbridge Road West when it receives information about a traffic accident. The officers turn on the blue lights and proceed to Snowden Road.
