A partially blind Scots woman is ‘scared to be in her own house’ after a thug smashed her front window with a rock.
The woman, who did not wish to be named, was left ‘shaken’ by the attack which took place at her Busby home on Friday afternoon. It is understood that the vandal hurled stones at her back window before moving to the front garden, causing extensive damage to her property.
Speaking to Glasgow Live, the terrified woman said: “He had some rocks and tried to smash my back windows but none of them were broken. The rocks are still there. He then came round the front, however, I never saw what happened next because it takes me a while to come down the stairs.
“When I got to the bottom I saw that my window had been smashed. I was told that the person had stood in my front garden and threw rocks at my window.”
Following the shocking ordeal, the victim says she and her daughter are now living in fear that they may be targeted again.
She said:”I’m really shaken up. Friday I couldn’t even concentrate and never ate anything the whole day.
“My daughter was here at the time and she was really shaken up. I am still scared in my house.”
The incident has been reported to police and an investigation is ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.05pm on Friday, 12 May, 2023, officers were called to a report of a disturbance and vandalism at a property on Easterton Avenue, Busby, Glasgow.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
