SBA offers low-interest loans for businesses affected by drought

UMATILLA COUNTY — The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is offering disaster assistance for businesses in Oregon, Washington and Idaho that were affected by drought this year.
The SBA announced the availability of low-interest federal disaster loans for eligible small businesses and private nonprofit organizations in Oregon affected by the drought beginning June 2 and beyond.
In Oregon, loans are available to small businesses in Umatilla, Baker, Union and Wallowa counties.
Who can apply?
• Small businesses
• Private non-profit organizations and religious organizations
• Small agricultural cooperatives and nurseries
• Small aquaculture companies
The loans, up to $2 million, will provide working capital assistance for operating expenses caused by the disaster. Loan terms are available for up to 30 years. There will be no interest or payments required for the first 12 months.
The deadline to apply is May 10, 2027. Applications are available online.
