Information Sessions for Snohomish County Small Business Innovation Assistance Program

Snohomish County, Washington, June 20, 2023 – Two Information Sessions for Snohomish County Small Business Innovation Assistance (SBIA) will take place this Wednesday and Thursday. SBIA is providing technical assistance services along with micro-grants to help small businesses in Snohomish County recover from the effects of the pandemic, as well as encourage new and innovative ideas from start-ups and entrepreneurs. The program is funded by the county’s federal ARPA appropriation.

“Our small business community is the backbone of our main streets and the local economy. They provide the goods and services that make our communities prosper.” said Snohomish County Executive Dave Somers. “The Small Business Innovation Assistance program will drive economic growth and innovation throughout our county and help entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs build long-term resiliency.”

Information Sessions Details

These upcoming free information sessions are the first step to learning more about SBIA, which is a partnership with Ventures, and are required to apply to the Business Fundamentals Course. Ventures is a regional non-profit organization that has supported small businesses and entrepreneurs for 28 years. Below are the details for each information session:

Information session in Spanish

  • Date and Time: Wednesday June 21, from 6 to 8 pm

Information session in English

  • Date and Time: Thursday June 22 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Location: Connect Casino Road, 14 E Casino Rd, Everett, WA 98208

The Business Basics Course and SBIA

The eight-week Business Basics course for Snohomish County Small Businesses and Entrepreneurs is a vital component of SBIA. The course will meet once a week for three hours with business peers and coaches and will cover the basics of business marketing, sales, financial management, and operations. Graduates of the Business Basics course will be eligible to access capital opportunities such as small business loans and grants, as well as a targeted incubation program to support the development of start-ups in the food and child care industries.

These courses are face-to-face and will take place on Thursday evenings from 6-9pm from July 13 to September 7, 2023. The deadline to apply for the SBIA Summer Session is Thursday, June 29 at 11:59 p.m.
