Hana Financial Group will support egg distribution costs to ease the burden of Chuseok prices and help revitalize neighborhood business districts.

Hana Financial said on Sept. 5 that it signed a trade agreement on Sept. 4 with Small Enterprise and Market Service and the Korean Federation of Micro Enterprises to support price stabilization by supplying “Kind Egg” products to neighborhood supermarkets.

Under the agreement, 20 poultry farms will be selected to supply around 120,000 trays of “the friendly egg” to around 4,000 neighborhood supermarkets across the country. Consumers have been able to purchase a set of 2 trays, or 60 eggs, for 9,990 won since September 4.

Hana Financial will contribute a shared growth donation fund to cover the labor costs required to wash, jibe and sort eggs, as well as nationwide logistical transportation costs. It plans to reduce costs incurred in distribution to ensure price competitiveness.

The Small Business and Markets Service will be responsible for price labelling, preparation of fair trade operational guidelines, advertising and project management. The Korean Micro Business Federation will use a nationwide distribution network of small and medium-sized supermarket chains to support product placement and sales.

Hana Financial Group President Ham Young-joo (함영주) said, “We prepared this project so that it can provide practical help to small business owners and consumers.” He said: “We will continue to support projects that contribute to the livelihood economy.”
