Lowes topples Acosta once again in dominant Day 1 display

Sam Lowes (Elf Marc VDS Racing Team) continued his strong form from the Spanish Grand Prix, leading on Day 1 at Le Mans. The Briton took day 1 honors at the SHARK French Grand Prix with a superb time of 1:36.178 as practice 2 drew to a close. Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Ajo) took charge of the mid-race standings, and despite going through the gravel trap he continued to move the benchmark throughout the session. Still, that wasn’t enough to stop Lowes’ charge as the Spaniard ended the day in P2 with just 0.005 seconds behind. Alonso Lopez (Lightech SpeedUp) also showed strong pace on Friday, finishing the day 3rd fastest just 0.093s off first place with Moto2™ as close as ever with a second covering the top 19.
