The cyclonic storm Moka, which became active in the Bay of Bengal, is gradually intensifying. Due to this, there are chances of strong winds and rain in the coastal areas. According to the Meteorological Department, the cyclonic storm may gradually intensify today i.e. on the evening of May 10, while moving towards the north and north-west. Along with this, the effect of the cyclonic storm is also going to be on the weather of Delhi-NCR and North India.
According to IMD’s senior scientist, RK Jenamani, due to the cyclone, an anticyclonic circulation will be formed in this area, which means that the moisture-laden winds that came from the rains of the previous days will go back. Because of this, the dryness in the air will increase. This will mark the beginning of dry summer in Delhi. Along with this, the temperature will also increase. In the next few days, it can increase up to 42 degree Celsius.
Please tell that at this time westerly winds are blowing in North India i.e. winds coming from the west which usually bring dry weather. But due to heavy rains in the past days, the temperature will gradually increase and it will reach the heatwave condition. That is, a slight increase in the temperature of Delhi will be seen. According to the Meteorological Department, gradually turning and moving towards the northeast, this storm can cross the coasts of southeast Bangladesh and northern Myanmar and landfall in Bangladesh and Myanmar on May 14.
Effect on Delhi’s weather
Its effect will also be seen on the weather of North India including Delhi. As the storm intensifies, strong winds and rain will be seen in the coastal areas near the Bay of Bengal. At the same time, the temperature of Delhi will increase. According to the Meteorological Department, today i.e. on May 10, the maximum temperature in Delhi can be 38, which will reach 42 degree Celsius on May 12 and 13.
