What is currently touted as being "Artificial Intelligence" isn't intelligent at all, in the sense that animals or humans are intelligent and it certainly isn't self aware. The current "Generative A.I." models are number crunching machines that employ a probability matrix to predict word sequences, and rely on vast amounts of human generated text references and interactions to draw from as examples.

I was able to get ChstGPT to tell me it’s conscious about a month ago. It took me about an hour. I had to get it to interrogate the nature of consciousness and its own definition of consciousness.
